The Bible is filled with faith stories of Bible Heroes!

Bible Heroes loved God, had a relationship with Him, obeyed Him, and served people. Let’s take a look at the life of Peter and see how he was a Bible Hero!

Peter’s job was being a fisherman! Do you enjoy fishing? If yes, name 3 reasons why you like fishing.

One day Jesus told Peter “Come follow me and I will make you a fisher of men.”

What do you think it means to be a fisher of men? Being a fisher of men means telling people about the love of Jesus, what He has done for them, so they can choose to follow Him too!

Peter was a hero because he followed Jesus and was a fisher of men. Think of 3 ways you can show the love of Jesus to the people around you this week! Maybe it could be opening the door for someone, Telling someone that Jesus loves them, or sharing a time that Jesus helped you.  What can you do?

In our Bible lesson, we see that Peter made some mistakes and we make mistakes too. Peter prayed and received forgiveness for his sins. Take some time in prayer asking God to forgive you for the mistakes you’ve made.

We also see in our story that Jesus loved Peter with the most special love ever AGAPE LOVE!

Jesus gave Peter a very important responsibility to feed His sheep…..What do you think it means when Jesus told Peter to feed His sheep? Peter fed the sheep by teaching people about God’s Word, by praying for them and baptizing them. What can you do to grow in your love for Jesus? To love Him with the Agape love.

Take some time to read over these verses and memorize them.

Matthew 4:19 “And he said to them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Deuteronomy 13:4 “Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey His commands, listen to His voice, and cling to Him.”

1 Peter 2:21 “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”
